As a pioneer, R&D has successfully implemented the first pilot machine with SINUMERIK ONE and a digital twin for lathes

The digital native CNC SINUMERIK ONE impresses with its new technological functions and modern user interface. The advantages of this new control generation are clear: getting started in the SINUMERIK ONE world is straightforward (it is 95% compatible with the Sinumerik 840D sl). Additionally, innovative technological features significantly optimise machining speed, contour accuracy, and machining quality.

As a new core element, the digital twin plays a key role in preventing programming errors that could result in rejects or damage to the real machine. Using it can accelerate production ramp-up by up to 40%, significantly reducing the machine’s energy consumption. It also enables unproductive machine time to be reduced by up to 75%, as testing and running-in of programmes takes place in the virtual environment, independently of the real machine.

R&D has equipped the first pilot machine with the new control system. This once again confirms its pioneering role in the industry.
